Q1: Is this one big course? Or a bunch of different products?
A1: This bundle is a collection of 5 eBooks, 14 eCourses & videos, 26 printables & planners, and 1 summit. Inside this bundle, you will find tons of resources to help set goals, save time, work more efficiently, manage your home, and so much more. It’s basically one big, productivity pack – all for $47.
Q2: What am I going to do with so many resources?
A2: There is no way on earth each of these eBooks / eCourses is relevant to where you are right now. Some of them will have a lot of appeal, and some won’t. But in most cases, it only takes 3 or 4 eBooks or eCourses that you’re going to use for you to start saving money. There are 15 resources alone that are worth as much or more than the cost of the bundle itself. So, even though you won’t use every resource in the bundle, it would still be really hard to not save a ton of money anyway.
Q3: How do I know I’m actually getting good quality products and not just a bunch of “throw-away” eBooks?
A3: The Ultimate Bundles team spends months reviewing potential contributors, approaches only the best for inclusion. Then they only accept the top products that they think will have the most appeal out of those. Many of these are even full-length eCourses with video tutorials or even access to a private Facebook group! They are highly selective and it shows in the final curated collection.
Q4: OK, but what if I buy it and don’t like it?
A4: Although Ultimate Bundles has an extremely low return rate at less than 1/4 of the industry standard, there are some people who it doesn’t work for. That’s why they offer a 100% happiness guarantee refund policy for 30 days. If you don’t love it, just email firstname.lastname@example.org to ask for a full refund.
Q6: This sounds like a scam. Can you prove it’s not?
A6: I know it seems too good to be true. Pay $47 for $1,506.90 in resources? Doesn’t that mean someone’s losing big time? Or the prices are inflated?
I totally get your concerns. I’ve been an affiliate for Ultimate Bundles for 3 years and I can tell you that I offer these bundles to my readers because they’re a great value. Even though a blogger may be including their product in a bundle that costs less than their product, product creators get exposure to new potential readers, which can pay off in big ways later. And when you buy a bundle through your favorite blogger (hopefully me!), you’ll support them, too! Plus, the bundle is offered for such a short time that they can go back quickly to selling their product at full price.
In short, it’s a great deal for everyone. Ultimate Bundles is a reputable company, so if you try the bundle and don’t like it within 30 days, just ask their friendly, helpful customer happiness team for a refund.
Health & Sanitation information for salons and spas
By far one of the most asked questions when opening a salon and spa in Saskatchewan is: What are the rules I need to follow when opening a salon or spa in Saskatchewan?
There is no easy answer to this one. In fact, it is actually quite confusing.
Businesses have been receiving conflicting information as to what you need to follow or don’t follow. Part of the problem that I am seeing is that the rules aren’t defined properly. Especially for those who work from home.
I have found some information and I am happy to share it!
Why should we put spa & salon sanitation disinfection and sterilization at the top of our continuing education? Public health and safety is the top priority of our job and is fundamentally the largest aspect of our work. Anyone who has basic training can provide a service, or apply a set of acrylic or gel nails but if you are using unclean implements or practices those services can cause an infection or worse death. It is our obligation to educate our clients so they know that we have the highest standards when it comes to the cleanliness of our work. To do that we must educate ourselves and the clients to follow the standards when it comes to sanitation disinfection and sterilization.
“Sanitation and infection control are some of the first things we learn in beauty school, and for good reason! It is crucial to have an understanding of the different kinds of infections you may come across, in order to protect yourself and the client. Clients rely on our knowledge and professionalism and trust us with their health, so we must abide by the law by giving them the best treatment without taking shortcuts.”- Dermascope ( by Dasha Saian, L.E.)
EST 1 Esthetician – All Trades Sanitation, Disinfection, and Sterilization is a work-study booklet that is the most current and up to date study guide on sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization for estheticians. This invaluable resource is available in our Free Esthetics Traning Manuals. The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), Damaris Terleski, Nove Salon & Esthetics Wholesale Ltd, and Veronica Lynne-Swirsky have co-authored a fantastic study resource. This guide is perfect for newbies, or experienced estheticians who want a refresher or to nail down the correct practices.

Business cards are the best marketing return on investment
Start with a pack of 500 because you will want to give out a lot in the beginning. The following tips will help you get the most out of your business cards:
Always keep a stack of cards in your purse or car.
Don’t be afraid to approach someone and compliment them on their nails or hair and tell them that if they are ever in need of a new stylist, beautician (or whatever your business is), to contact you.
If you’re in a professional setting always ask someone for their business card first before you hand them yours.
If you can, make them a unique shape, size, or texture so they stand out. “For all their wonderful designs, business card templates should be looked at for what they really are: very effective advertising tools that can help you get more leads, clients, and revenue”. –Creative Market-

In your Avon Ladies catalogs (or like mlm rep)

Local businesses who will put them in their shopping bags

You need to sell more gift certificates at your salon or spa. Gift certificates fit everyone. This is why more salons and spas are starting to market the sale of gift certificates. They are a great source of revenue and bring new clients through the doors. All salons and spas should have easy access to them.
“Retailers can count on consumers to spend more money on their gift cards than face value. 65% of gift card users spend 38% over face value of their cards.”–CEB
I often see salons and spas offering a discount on the dollar value of their gift certificate in order to sell more. This is not the best marketing strategy. The client receives a discount right off the hop. Now, what if you are having a sale on services or products and the client uses it towards that? Then the client is receiving a double discount. This is taking away from your profit.
So how do you sell more gift certificates at your salon or spa? Make it easy. And offer incentives that increase your service value.
Online gift certificates
Offer online gift certificates! This is perfect for those who want to buy gift certificates for loved ones who live far away. Customers are able to instantly purchase and print the certificates or send the gift certificate via email! One drawback with online gift certificates is that there are usually fees for either the seller or the purchaser of the gift card.
The online retailer we love is thegiftcardcafe.com . They provide you with a branded, ready to use, professional online system for selling and managing Instant Gift Certificates, Daily Deals, & Physical Gift Cards online which can be added to your website in minutes with a simple link or button. It’s so easy!
Offer in-store gift certificates. When you are ringing up a client at the till, ask every single client if they need a gift certificate today. You’d be surprised at how many people suddenly remember a teacher’s gift they need to purchase!
Mention on your website that you would be happy to fill in the gift certificate and offer to mail it to the recipient. Even a little convince like this can entice a potential customer to buy.
Promotional coupons are great add-ons to give to clients to entice them to sell more gift certificates at your salon or spa. You can give a free paraffin add-on treatment to any $50 gift certificate. The gift giver gives that paraffin treatment along with the gift certificate to the recipient they get to try the add-on, (increase the value of the service) which hopefully shows in the tip to the service provider.
If the purchaser keeps the add-on for themselves, they get to add it to their service when they come in. (Now they are a repeat customer or a new customer and will also have an increased service value) Read more about increased service value in our blog post “ How to increase service value”
Where to get gift certificates made
When you sell in-house gift certificates you can either purchase them from a large printing company in your city. (A quick google search will help you locate this) Or you can design your own and have them sent to you.
We prefer Zazzle for all of our printing services. They have thousands of options for templates and are pretty inexpensive. Also, you only need to purchase small batches at a time which is great if you are just starting out and need to keep your costs low.
Whether you are going the online or the paper route just make sure you know the laws regarding gift certificates in your country! Make sure you have the right wording on every gift card in order to protect your business.

One of the most frequent questions I’ve had in the last couple of months is “How do I get my salon or spa on google?”
Sometimes the advertising part of your business can be completely overwhelming. If your one of those people, then this is a great post for you. I will make it as easy as filling up your wax stick tray.
I’ve had my business on Google for over 6 years and you will see the insights how successful and important my google listing is to my business.
There are a thousand places to list your business on the internet, but Google is by far the most important one. It’s also one that you can basically set and forget. Once you have your information in there you don’t need to change it unless you are updating your business information.
Why get your salon or spa on google?
In this day and age everyone “googles”. When you put your business on google it increases your chances of building your business by making it internet visible.
“Having a positive presence on Google My Business can significantly increase your sales and in-store traffic. In fact, according to Google, 50% of people who perform a local online search for certain products or stores will actually visit a store that same day.”-Forbes
There are over 2 trillion Google searches per day in 2018, but Internet Live Stats, an excellent source for making assumptions, claims around 5.5 billion searches done on Google per day or over 63,000 search queries done per second.-Ardor SEO
What happens when you get your salon or spa on Google?
Basically, you sign in (or create an account if you don’t have one) on Google, claim your business, get a postcard, follow the steps on the postcard and voila you’re on Google. (I wish that it was that quick, but you have to fill out some information.)
I was trying to figure out the best way to type all the steps out then I realized that the information changes so fast that it’s better if I send you right to the direct page on google. It’s pretty easy and it’s basically fill in the blanks.
A free easy to build website! But don’t worry. If you already have a website, you won’t need to take part in this step.
Access to very important analytics
You’ll also get complete control over all your business information like hours, pictures, map details etc. One of my favourite features is insights. You’ll learn what is working well for your business, how many people are finding you and what buttons they are clicking.
If you take online bookings certain schedule providers, you can even have a direct booking link. If your provider is not on the list, you can add a button to your posts to go directly to your website.
How to wow people with your Google listing!
Fill in as much of the business details that you can. From experience the more information on the listing that there is the less likely you get information request phone calls that tie up your days (ie. What time are you open until, do you take visa, etc. etc.
Take amazing pictures of your business and products and even yourself! You can add text overlay with a free picture editing program like Canva.
Update your listing frequently.
Claiming your business on Google is not that scary. It takes 10 minutes or so to set the account up and request the verifications post card. Your free google listing can really help grow your business!
It’s Ok. It took me a while to figure out. Here is a video if you are a visual learner or need a little more help!
A lot of business owners ask me about cost-cutting measures you can do in the salon. One way I keep my service costs low is to source out my regular supplies such as nail files, buffers, towel, and other sundry items through various wholesalers. I have found the cheapest place to get spa supplies and I want to share that with you.
A couple of years ago, before the Canadian dollar dropped, we could order a ton of supplies out of the United States and get a reasonable deal but when the dollar dropped that all stopped. One thing I had done was to order products through Amazon and through eBay and I could get items for cheap. I looked at the return packages. I noticed they were coming directly from China or another far away country like that.
I did my research, and I found this nifty little website you could get all kinds of products for super cheap direct from the manufacturer. You can literally get almost anything. I have tried some of the beauty products and gel polishes and some of the beauty masks and stuff but a lot of them are Asian beauty products are not regulated like they are in Canada. I’m always hesitant to purchase it for my clients, but for myself, I’ll try anything.
I’ve been ordering products and supplies for a number of years from this website and because of that, I was able to work out a deal with the company to get an affiliate link. Any products you order by clicking on the links on this website I will get a commission for. This commission does not get added to your price of the product so it doesn’t cost you anything.
I’ve done the research I found the best sellers. I’ve put together a list of the items I order and who I order from. If you click on the link so you can just order it directly from the company.
One site I order from is Aliexpress. The site can be overwhelming and there are different ways of figuring out who is verified and who is not. In my years of ordering from them, I’ve only ever had one or two problems. The only downside is sometimes it can take up to 2 months to receive your item. I use this site rarely now as I am in love with Amazon. Here is the link anyways for you to take a look at some of the items you can get.
In my post, I’ve included some direct links or you can also just search around on site. Remember when your purchase through any of the links through my website it helps paid for my website and the hours I spent researching which suppliers are the best. I’m hoping this helps you guys I’ve always been the type of person to figure out where the cheapest nail file is where I can get a nail file for $0.03 vs $0.07. When you’re a home-based or small business every single dollar counts.
So where is the cheapest place to get spa supplies?
Nail Stamp Plates
Nail Art Kits

Accounting and taxes for self-employed estheticians, nail techs, lash techs and more
Tax time can be stressful.
Especially if you are in your first year of business. If this part of your business freaks you out call a professional! Self-employed estheticians, nail techs, lash techs are very capable of doing their own accounting and taxes. If you are a DIYer or need to save money and have the time available on your hands to do a little digging than keep reading.
How I manage my accounting and taxes
Accounting and taxes for self-employed estheticians can actually be pretty easy once you have everything prepared.
Waveapps is the accounting software that I use for my business. It’s free! (unless you buy some of the addons which, I never have) It’s easy and cloud-based. I sometimes refer to it as “Accounting for dummies”. And if you’re self-employed or home-based this accounting software is perfect for you!
If you need a little more direction or maybe some phone support another inexpensive option is Quickbooks. Quickbooks is popular among all types and sizes of business because it is easy to use and inexpensive. They also offer a lot of support in the form of webinars, tutorials and chat boxes. If you’re like me you like to spoil your clients every once and a while. I like to give out tiny gifts for Christmas, Valentines, birthdays, my business anniversary and new client gifts. Everyone likes getting gifts. My clients love the surprises and have even told me it adds to their loyalty to me. After being in the business for 10 years I have given out hundreds of gifts. I want to share with you some of the ideas I have used and some of the way I have saved money.
Supplies to keep on hand
I want to start with a few things I always keep on hand. You may already have some of these but most you can pick up in the city or if you are a one-stop shopper order online.
I purchase a bulk roll of ribbon in my business colours and keep that on hand at all times. I get mine from Gales wholesale in Regina, but you can check out any craft store or Amazon. Also, you can have ribbon made with your business logo on it! I get this ribbon from Zazzle. I use this ribbon to wrap packages, attach gift cards to gifts and more.
Stickers with your logo and business information are super important too. I used to order them from Vistaprint but I have found better quality through Zazzle. And if you keep your eye out Zazzle has quite a few sales so the price is comparable.
Cellophane bags in assorted sizes come in handy. I also usually get these at Gales wholesale. You can fill these bags with gifts, candies, snack mix, gum, cookies or just about anything. A quick search on Amazoncame up with hundreds of options too.
The actual client appreciation gifts ideas were probably the hardest to come up with. For the longest time I was picking up sample sizes at the beauty supplier’s but that quickly became costly. I do keep a few of the sample on hands but I only give them to clients with specific needs that I hope will actually purchase that retail item in the future.
*update some suppliers are selling on Amazon now. I was able to find: (These prices might fluctuate)
Bulk nail files for less than .65 each
Uber cute nail sets for less than $1.50 each
Cuticle oil pens for less than $1.25 each
Chap ice for less than $1.00 each
Foot file for less than $1.25
Check out local suppliers for more great discounts. They will probably have bulk items on sale a month or two before Christmas!
Don’t forget to put your business stickers on each item so when your client pulls them out they are reminded that they are from you.
If you would like to just give out a card you could try these ones from Zazzle. I give my clients 6. They can keep 2 and give out 5 to their friends. When their friends come in I ask them who gave them the card and then I give the original client an extra $10 off for every person who redeems the card. I have mine set at $10 but you can change that to reflect any price point. The least amount anyone has ever come in for is a $50 service. And you gain a new client!
If I plan ahead by a few months I usually pick stuff up at aliexpress. These are items that come directly from manufacturers (usually China). I’ve gotten some smoking cheap items and have been able to dress them up nicely with my business stickers and ribbons. Some of the more popular items have been:
FYI Most of these gifts are less than $1.00 but rang up to $3.00 per piece
For my international readers
I have a number of readers from the USA and the United Kingdom so I also want to include a few other unique client gifts that are not available in Canada (yet) (unless you have someone down there that can ship them up to you.)
How cool is this lemonade mix with your logo on it! You can also order hot chocolate!. This would make a pretty neat retail item or donation gift!
This is a little extravagant and you could probably find someone local- Gourmet premium shortbread cookies gourmet premium shortbread cookies
This is probably one of my favourites- Cake pops! These custom Oreo® pops are covered in white or milk chocolate, adorned with the image of your choice and sprinkled in your choice of 5 colours.
Of course, custom Lip balms are always a hot giveaway
No matter what you pick I’m sure your clients will love them. Any gift you give them will increase their loyalty to you. If you looking for other items that you want personalized, check out our design store- Zazzle
How many no-shows do you have in a week? 3 or 4? Don’t you think that is 3 or 4 too many?
In this day and age, there is no reason that someone can not give you the courtesy to call, text or email to let you know that they are not going to make their appointment. So why do they still miss appointments? And how do you prevent no-show clients?
Some clients do not understand that when they are not sitting in your chair or on your bed you are not getting paid so that’s why it is important that we communicate with clients. This can be really uncomfortable but it still needs to happen. So how do you do this?
8 way to prevent no show clients
If you can start right from the beginning while you’re opening your business then it will be a lot easier. Every client will assume this is the standard policy for your business. If you are just implementing a policy it will take some time to get your clients used to some of the ideas. There are also subtle ways that you can communicate this with your clients about your policy.
When booking an appointment collect credit card information or a deposit for services. Remind clients that if they fail to show that you will follow your cancellation.
Have a notice right on your business card. Keep it simple and to the point.
State your policy on your till receipt. State it in bold right under your business contact information.
Always state your cancellation policy when you book your clients by telephone or by online booking. There is nothing wrong with reminding new clients and return clients of your policy.
Post a notice at your till or station. You can purchase an inexpensive notice on Zazzle
When sending out your email promotions make sure to add a little blurb at the bottom reminding clients of your policy.
Have your policy posted on your social media accounts as well as your website and price lists. Even just a simple reminder that you have a cancellation policy can be enough to remind your clients to respect it.
Set your online scheduling up to send out automatic appointment reminders. Make sure your policy is clearly stated in the reminder.
So what happens after a client doesn’t show up? That’s up to you. I personally take each situation into consideration.
Did the client call one hour before saying she can’t leave the toilet? Did she call 6 hours before and explain that her child is throwing up? Or did the client just not show up all together with no phone call or notice.
In my own case, no shows happen so rarely but when they do I give the client a call. I think about what I would feel like in the situation of the client. If it’s “Oh I just forgot” then I charge the fee. But if it’s a real life situation and it’s never happened before with that client I usually let it slide. ONCE. After that, I send out a notification to the client that they failed to follow the policy. I give them the option to pay with their credit card or cash.
If you set yourself up in the beginning with a strong policy as well as an appointment reminder system you shouldn’t really have to worry about now shows. Good luck!
Invest in your business today. We have a variety of cancellation notices, plaques and posters available for sale in our store. If you don’t see one you like send us an email and we would be happy to work with you to create one!

So the big holiday season is coming up. What are you going to do to blow your sales through the roof? Here are a few tips for the holiday season to get you ready for your biggest sales month of the year.
How to celebrate in the salon or spa
Decorate the salon tastefully and not too much. Stick to a non-religious theme. Keep the display area well lit. Keep the holiday season music to a minimum. People get a little sick of it after a while.
Keep plenty of fresh hot chocolate, tea and coffee on hand. If you can, invest in water bottles with your company logo on it. Buyers get hot and thirsty when they are shopping. If you can, keep them in your space a little longer.
Have a coat rack near buy so clients don’t get overheated.
Should you have a party?
You can have a little party to celebrate the season but chances are your clients might be a little partied out. It’s a busy season. Putting all your resources into one night is a little risky. Why not host a month-long event leading up to Christmas. This way you can test out how to boost holidays sales in your salon or spa. By doing this over time you’ll be able to work out what works and what doesn’t work in your business.
How to get more sales
Ensure your staff is well trained on what promotions you are offering and ask them to mention it to clients they are working on.
Have business cards with a list of promotions coming up and give one to every client and staple them to every receipt.
If you are solo or have a small spa and don’t have a receptionist consider booking a few extra blank time slots during your day to spend time with clients selling them retail or gift certificates.
Use social media to get buyers in the door
One of the easiest ways to get the word out about your promotions is your email list! Send out an email blast to your client list with all of the promotions you will be running that month.
Use targeted ads on facebook and twitter with your promotions.
Organize the gift shop by dollar value and sign it that way.(gifts under $10 $20 $50 and so on)
Put together little gift baskets in a variety of themes and price points.
Have plenty of under $5 items right next to the till to upsell.
Make sure all retail products have a little waterproof sticker on the back with your logo and “if you would like to repurchase this item please contact us at …(insert your website)
Offer a small discount when the purchaser spends over $100, $150 or $200 on products
Hole punch a hole in the gift certificates and tie a ribbon around it to hang on the tree.
Make more sale with gift certificates
Make sure gift certificates are easily purchasable on your website! For clients wishing to purchase them over the phone, you could even offer to put them in a card with a handwritten note to the recipient and mail it for them for a more personal touch. We’ve written a really detailed blog post on gift certificates that you should take a couple of seconds to look over.” Why you need to seel more gift certificates at your salon or spa”
Client gifts for the special clients who help build your business
For my top 10 clients (clients who spend The most on services and retail or refer the most people to me) I give them unlimited amounts of $10 promo cards (Valid off full priced service but not to be used with any other discount) to hand out to friends and family. Essentials for starting your home based esthetics business
Top items you need to start working from home and where to get them
Many of the items in this post contain affiliate links. I will receive a portion of the sales at no cost to you if you choose to purchase these items. One thing I found really useful when comparing items was to add them to my Amazon cart so I could look at everything side by side and work out my budget. You can even print that list out and as you purchase items either from online or local beauty suppliers cross the items off the list like a visual goal. I’ll do my best to keep this list up to date.
You should still price shop and compare it to your local supplier. I do want to advocate that you should try to shop local but for a lot of estheticians who are starting in small towns can’t always drive to the local supplier. Some suppliers do deliver so keep that in mind too.
If you find something that you think would be valuable to the readers please let me know. I want to make this process as easy as possible for you. I also want to mention if you plan on purchasing regular products from Amazon you might want to invest in a Prime membership. While I don’t purchase professional products from Amazon, I do purchase a lot of equipment and disposables and it is really helpful to get the times delivered in 2 days with free shipping!
Some items may not be available in your country.
A good desk that fits you correct is essential to doing business. When choosing a desk keep in mind the storage options. If you don’t have a lot of storage in your new workspace look at a desk with a lot of cupboards and storage. You also might want one with a build in fan or spot for a nail lamp if you do nails.
“The beginner’s desk” – I like this desk because it is very inexpensive. It’s on wheels so you could move it around your room easily if you have a tight space. it also comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. The downside to the table is that there is no storage
“Middle of the pack” I wanted to show you this one because it’s fairly inexpensive and comes with a bonus chair!!!
“The deluxe” This is a great desk because of all the amazing storage! It also comes with an electric downdraft nail vent and a free LED lamp
“What to do if your really short table” I have this problem. I had to find a table that was short enough to cut the legs off by 2 inches. I also decorated it with peel and stick tiles to make it easier to clean. When my clients and fellow estheticians asked about it I reminded them that I was the one sitting at it for 8 hours and that they only had to tolerate it for 2 hours. For this reason, I purchased chairs that were comfortable and adjustable for my clients and I”
It is important to choose a chair that is adjustable and rolls easily. Also, you will want to choose one that can easily be cleaned.
“The basic” This is a great simple chair with a back on it.
“The deluxe” I like this chair because it comes in 5 colors, is easily cleanable and is on wheels. I actually have this one for both my client and I. If the wheels break you can find replacements on Amazon too.
“The uber ergonomic” If you intend to sit all day at your nail desk you might want to try an ergonomic specialty chair. I have never used one but I know a number of nail techs who swear by them. I like this one because it can be easily cleaned.
Choose a comfortable chair that is adjustable and easily cleaned. You could really just buy 2 Esthetics chairs.
“The overall client chair” If you want a bigger chair that is a little softer and is easy to move around the room try this one! You could also try Staples, Ikea or Costco for simple client chair.
If you can afford it get an electronically adjustable bed right off the start. If you are just starting out, you may have to choose a stationary bed because they are inexpensive. One thing I have found about the beds is that you should check the nuts and bolts every once and a while to tighten them. they come loose from the constant adjustments.
“The electric bed” I have the older version of this bed and have had for a few years and I love it. It’s held up really well and there are no cracks in the material. I haven’t had any problems with the electrical either. I really wish I purchased this bed at the beginning of my career!
“The everyday basic bed” This is an excellent bed if you can’t afford an electric bed. Its height is not adjustable but the head and foot portion are. I worked in a place with one of these bed and it was fine.
“The least expensive” This bed is height adjustable, portable and very inexpensive. It’s a great option if you are just starting out and are on a very limited budget. It also comes in another color and easily resellable if you are able to upgrade your bed at a later time.
Most estheticians will have just one wax pot. If you do a lot of waxing or use multiple types of wax, you should have 2 or more. No matter what pots you choose make sure they fit the cans of wax that you regularly use as well as are regular North American plugins. Also, I keep mine plugged into coffee timers so they turn on at 7 am every day and off at 8 pm.
“The workhorse” I’ve had this Satin Smooth pot for 4 years and have never had a problem. The one before that lasted 5 years. It’s a great little warmer.
“The double” I also have this one and have had it for 6 years. I took off the flip lid though. It keeps the pots consistently heated and I have never had any problems.
A trolley with good wheels makes your life a lot easier. If you can choose a metal one that is easy to clean and has storage. Try to find one that has larger wheels so that it moves around easily.
I have this Ikea one and have had it for 6 years. Costco had similar ones too.
“Professionaltrolley” I found this one on Amazon and really like it. It has good reviews and looks like it would fit a couple of wax pots.
“The roll about cart“- I like this one because of all the storage solutions. I also really like the adjustable storage trays.
After plenty of towel mishaps, I can tell you for sure the best towels are salon professional towels. Regular home towels don’t cut it and fall apart.
“The best quality” and you can’t beat the price. These towels will wash nicely and stay in good condition for years. I’ve had the same ones for 7 years. And they come in so many other colors! I purchase one set for facials (white) and one set for hands and feet (brown)
“Microfiber” I also have these and they are great quality and have lasted for over 6 years. They also come in multiple colors.
A paraffin pot is essential for add-on services. They can be inexpensive and pay for themselves in a short period.
“The Workhorse“- I have had this exact pot for 10 years and its still in perfect condition. You can buy refills at your beauty supplier or online. I always bought large freezer bags at the dollar store to use once I ran out of the original plastic baggies.
“The best seller” This one is Amazons’s best seller. It’s quite a bit bigger and its digital. It has a lot of great reviews and looks like good quality.
One way to cut down on paper waste and disposable products is to purchase sheets instead of paper for waxing clients. Purchase a regular twin pack. If you can choose a pattern so that any oil spills or stains don’t show up.
“Amazon special” You can pick sheets up pretty inexpensively anywhere but if you watch on Amazon you can get a set for less than $15 every once and a while. I have a couple of these sets and they wash really well. I also want to mention that if you go to Costco online you buy a bucket of detergent for about $109. It’s Nelly’s brand and will last you a couple of years (about 1100 loads).
There is always going to be an awkward silence so have a radio or cell phone docking station in your room to keep it minimal.
Place your clock in the direction that you face the most. You’ll be able to keep an eye on the time without seeming rude for checking the time
“All in one stereo” This one is everything all in one. you can doc your iPhone on it or use it with your android phone via blue tooth. You can also charge your own phone on it. I have Amazon prime so I get free Amazon music which is awesome.
“Honourable mention” This one is my next purchase. It’s beautiful and sleek. It connects via blue tooth so its perfect.
You can start with just a small collection of polish and add to your collection as you go along. Check your local suppliers for and deals they have. Amazon is not really a good place to get really good quality nail polish unless there is a specific color you are looking for. Also, check online professional groups because sometimes people are looking to get rid of lots of nail polish for really cheap. I like Born Pretty too!
Kit #1– I love everything in this kit. It’s perfect for someone who is just getting into nail art or just getting into the business. I like that it also includes a storage kit!
Kit #2 -This is another great kit and it would make an excellent gift for anyone just starting out. There are also a ton of rhinestones which make for an easy upsell to clients.
Always have plenty of tweezers on hand. Then you can sanitize them at the end of the day or week. they also make great retail items
“Tweezer set” I have 5 sets of these and they are pretty much my go tos. They stay sharp and work well.
“Amazon’s bestseller” -This one comes very highly rated on Amazon and is pretty inexpensive so you could easily stock up on a few of these.
Uv lamp- The lamp will depend on what type of nail products you are using but there are some universal ones out there. I highly recommend purchasing the lamp that goes with the product line that you will be using. These can be purchased through your local nail supplier.
“Universal nail lamp” This one is inexpensive and has sold over 775 with a decent rating on Amazon. I like that it also has an auto on/off sensor too.
“The top seller” This is another one of Amazon’s top sellers with a ton of really great reviews.
Sanitizer tray– These should last you forever! Make sure you are using the correct procedures for sanitizing! It is essential to get one of the trays that has a little basket and a lid! They are pretty much all the same. I’ve had the same one for 10 years!
Broom and dustpan– A given. Keep a separate boom in your room. I found that my broom has to be replaced every few years because little bits of wax get built up in it and you don’t want to spread those little bits of wax through your house.
Bookcase- You’ll need something to store supplies, and product.
“Bookcase” I love the look of this one and it looks easy to set up.
Laptop- If you not planning on watching movies on it, and are just using it for business-related tasks and or social media you don’t need a very expensive one.
“Laptop“- You can’t beat the price of this one and it actually has great reviews on Amazon!
Lamp- Good lighting is essential to perform exceptional services. It also prevents eye strain!
“Top Seller” This little lap is amazing. It’s on roller wheels and has a magnifying part.
The Clip-on” I have a clip on lamp just like it an I love that I can clip it around the room and don’t have a big base to have to work around. This lamp has sold over 2000 and has great reviews!
“The best selling desk lamp” When I was searching for a lamp I came across this beauty and I’m gonna order one this week. It looks fantastic! The lamp has a USB charging port, 4 lighting modes with 5 brightness levels, and 1-Hour Timer. This would look so sleek on a nail desk!
Pedicure Station. When you first start doing esthetics you could either invest in an all in one chair, provide laydown pedicures (where the client soaks their feet first then gets up on a bed and lays down for a pedicure) or Jimmy one up for yourself. This is what I did. In fact, Nails magazine did a little write up about it once.
“Footsie bath” I had the same footsie bath for 7 years. Then I sold it used to another tech when I quit doing pedicures. I never had one single issue with it. I loved that the liners are disposable so you don’t have to risk client safety.
After searching for a variety of items on the internet I came across a few packages which are work taking a look at. Add them to your Amazon cart list to see if you can get a better deal buying a package or items individually.

5 years ago I felt like my business was at a standstill. I felt like no matter what I did I couldn’t seem to get any new clients in the door. After reading 23 books about how to get new clients in the service industry I found the one way the consistently built my business up with barely any effort.

It’s no secret that I order a ton of stuff from Amazon online. I order everything from waxing sticks to gluten-free pretzels. It’s uber convenient and I save a ton of time shopping. Also, I use a lot of the prime benefits for my business. It’s not just the free shipping I love, it’s the free music that I can play in my studio.
